A returning soldier holds the key to an ancient war, and a secret buried for forty years is coming for it. The first volume of a sweeping, character-driven saga.
The Season-Witch is the kind of audiobook you press into a friend's hands and then ask about a week later. Beatrix Frei writes with real attention to detail, and the pacing carries you through to the final page.

★★★★★ Good, not great
Enjoyable and well written. Not quite what I expected from the description, but I'd read more by Beatrix Frei.

I keep thinking about the ending. Beatrix Frei has a real gift for the small, true detail.

Bought a copy for my sister and one for myself. We've been texting about it all week.
Noah P. · May 14, 2026 · Verified buyer★★★★★ Solid, with a few slow patches
Strong voice and great atmosphere, though the middle drags a little. Still glad I read it.
